Request deletion of your account and data
How to Request Account Deletion
To request deletion of your BuildersAI account and all associated data, please send an email to privacy@buildersai.co.uk with the subject line "Account Deletion Request".
Include in Your Request:
- The email address associated with your BuildersAI account
- Your full name as registered on the account
- Confirmation that you want to permanently delete your account
What Data Will Be Deleted
When your account is deleted, the following data will be permanently removed:
- Your account profile and login credentials
- Personal information (name, email, phone number)
- Photos and files you have uploaded
- Comments, messages, and annotations you have created
- Project data for projects where you are the sole owner
- App preferences and settings
Data That May Be Retained
Certain data may be retained in limited circumstances:
- Shared project data: Content in projects shared with other team members may be retained but anonymised (your name removed)
- Legal obligations: Financial records required for tax or legal compliance (up to 7 years)
- Anonymised analytics: Aggregated, non-identifying usage statistics
Deletion Timeline
Within 48 hours: We will acknowledge your request and verify your identity
30-day grace period: Your account will be deactivated. You can cancel the deletion request during this time
After 30 days: Your data will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered
Before You Delete Your Account
Consider the following before requesting deletion:
- Download any photos or files you want to keep from your projects
- Transfer ownership of any projects to another team member if needed
- If you're on a paid plan, ensure you've cancelled your subscription first
Alternative Options
If you're having issues with the app or your subscription, we'd love to help before you delete your account:
- Pause your account: Contact us to temporarily deactivate without losing data
- Get support: Email hello@buildersai.co.uk for help with any issues
- Change your plan: Downgrade to a free plan instead of deleting
