Delete your account and data from BuildersAI.

Delete Your Account in the App

The easiest way to delete your account is directly within the BuildersAI app:

Steps to Delete Your Account

  1. Open the BuildersAI app and sign in
  2. Go to Profile
  3. Scroll down to the "Danger Zone" section
  4. Tap "Delete Account"
  5. Review what will be deleted, optionally provide a reason for leaving, and confirm with your password

Alternative: Request Deletion via Email

If you cannot access the app, you can request account deletion by emailing privacy@buildersai.co.uk with the subject line "Account Deletion Request". Include:

  • The email address associated with your BuildersAI account
  • Your full name as registered on the account
  • Confirmation that you want to permanently delete your account

What Data Will Be Deleted

When your account is permanently deleted, the following data is removed:

  • Your profile and personal information
  • Your certifications and documents
  • Your site check-in history
  • Your SiteBot conversations
  • Your project memberships

What Data Will Be Preserved

The following data is kept but anonymised (attributed to "Deleted User"):

  • Photos, files, and work items you created within projects

30-Day Grace Period

You have 30 days to change your mind. After requesting deletion:

  • Your account is marked for deletion but not immediately removed
  • You will receive a confirmation email with details
  • If you sign back in during the 30-day period, you will see a banner with the option to cancel deletion
  • After 30 days, your data is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered

Deletion Timeline

Immediately: Account marked for deletion, confirmation email sent

Days 1-30: Grace period. Sign in to cancel deletion if you change your mind.

After 30 days: Data permanently deleted. This cannot be undone.

Before You Delete Your Account

Consider the following before requesting deletion:

  • If you are the sole admin of any projects with other members, you will need to transfer the admin role, remove other members, or confirm deletion of those projects
  • If you are on a paid plan, cancelling your subscription is separate from deleting your account

Data That May Be Retained

Certain data may be retained in limited circumstances:

  • Legal obligations: Financial records required for tax or legal compliance (up to 7 years)
  • Audit logs: Deletion events are logged with a hashed (non-reversible) identifier for compliance. No personal information is retained.
